My 2015 CFDA awards review

The 2015 CFDA awards took place yesterday at Alice Tully Hall in New York City. The annual ceremony celebrates the contribution of designers and public figures from all areas of the fashion industry, with awards being given for design excellence in womenswear, menswear, and accessories as well as successful accomplishments in creative vision and lifetime achievement. The rain couldn’t prompt the stars out of coming in full force last night. From Pharrell Williams to Victoria Beckham and the Olsen twins, they all turned the red carpet into a temporary fashion week. The ceremony’s VIP guest list meant some serious stylish moments, and I am here to show you my favourites:

Gigi Hadid one of the evening’s standouts in a glittering jumpsuit from Michael Kors. She contrasted her glittering look with her blond hair down in soft bouncy curls. You can’t help noticing that her look is almost identical to the sequin one-piece Taylor Swift wore for the June cover of Elle magazine, suggesting that the two best friends share style tips…

Emmy Rossum selected a cut-out Dion Lee design with a slit at the front and vamped things up with a low-cut neckline, see-through long sleeves, and detailed embellishments such as glitters on the core of the dress. She paired the look with matching black stilettos and an old-fashioned sleeked bun.

Lily Aldridge wore a similar sequinned design, made by Thakoon, but in a more casual vibe, paired with matching cut-out heels and some natural waved locks.

Daphne Groeneveld sported a very chic Tom Ford boyfriend tuxedo made of black silk with the traditional satin lapel. The plunging cleavage was however a very seductive statement to give the look some edge.
