For the 74th edition of the Venice Film Festival, I had the pleasure to dress French actress Audrey Giacomini for the screening of her short movie Aria by Myrsini Aristidou.
For Audrey Giacomini, I picked up the Poppy dress from my Haute Couture collection “Une Forêt d’Automne”. It is a silk chiffon pleated dress with a flowing structure and a puffy poppy flower at the front, hand-made in silk organza. Audrey has the beauty of an Asian woman, and the elegance of a French lady, so this style was perfect on her.
When she first came to my atelier last month with her manager Maëlle Venin, I instantly loved her. I got really touched by her sweetness and gentle manners, and her sense of humour. We tried a selection of different dresses from my collections and the three of us agreed on selecting this one for Audrey’s red carpet appearance.
You know it is the right dress when you instantly feel at your best in it, as if the dress were the extension of yourself. On the day of the red carpet, Audrey Giacomini presented Aria short movie in front of the international press which was definitely the raising turn of her acting career.
For the big preparation, my makeup artist Nora Kourkis did her hair and makeup. We wanted to recreate a look that is both ultra-glamourous with a touch of exoticism. Nora Kourkis did the classic red carpet bun with a side braid for a boho twist, and false lashes for a dramatic makeup. A pair a earrings from Les Nérèides Paris added a pop of color to the whole look.
I was lucky enough to hit the red carpet with her, in another design of mine. I love that feeling of excitement and celebration you feel on a red carpet day, especially when you share it with such a lovely team. The movie turned out to be a success from the international critics and the whole Sakina Paris team was proud of being a part of this event.
